Homecoming Season

Why It Means So Much to Keep Coming Back

It was in the pages of a few different local publications nearly two decades ago that I began writing about home improvements. Being a writer and graphic designer for a media outlet was a dream gig, so I couldn’t believe my luck getting to use it as an outlet for my DIY skills. Years later, I answered a call in our community and started a business focussed on small home and office improvements. I loved helping to improve the greater Lansing area one building at a time. It was during the pandemic when I realized I had become known for my design sense as much as my handy skills. Again answering a need in our community, I relaunched my business to specialize in a full makeover services. This was my second dream-job-come-true.

I cherish the opportunity to play a bigger role in our community by setting the stage for iconic businesses and family gathering places alike through the thoughtful reimagining of those spaces. So, when a NEW local magazine asked me about contributing, I couldn’t help but feel a warm sense of nostalgia. To be, once again, featured in a community-focused publication sharing my passion for writing AND design is an exciting sort of homecoming. I am thrilled to have a platform through which to share ideas and inspiration throughout the 517 area code. I hope you will keep an eye out for the announcement when my first article publishes and send me your suggestions and any questions you might want me to answer in one of my platforms. It’s always been my goal to serve my community doing what I love, especially when my reach is expanded by a media outlet. It sure feels good to be back!
